How much does Invisalign cost in Costa Rica? What the price depends on
It is the first question we get and the only one we cannot answer honestly over the phone. Not because the price is a secret, but because there is no Invisalign price: there is the price of your case.
Three things that move the price
The first is the plan. Align Technology makes several: Lite for mild cases (up to 14 aligners), Comprehensive for complete cases (unlimited aligners and refinements), Teen for teenagers and First for children. Each has a different lab cost.
The second is complexity. Mild crowding and a crossbite with extractions are not the same job, even if both are treated with aligners. Complexity defines the plan, the duration and the number of check-ups.
The third is what it includes. A price may or may not include refinements (a short extra series at the end), check-ups, attachments and retention. Two figures that look different can be the same once you compare what they cover.
Why we don't quote without seeing the case
A number given over the phone with no scan or photographs would be a guess — and a low guess becomes a high surprise at the end. We prefer to do the consultation, see the case and hand over a closed price in writing, with what it includes.
That document is your protection: if the treatment needs a refinement that the plan foresees, the price does not change.
What to ask at any consultation
Which Invisalign plan is it? Does it include refinements? How many check-ups? Does it include retainers at the end? What happens if I lose an aligner? Is the price in writing? With those six answers you can really compare proposals.
And compared with braces?
Aligners generally cost somewhat more than metal braces because of the lab work and digital planning; against ceramic or lingual braces the gap narrows or reverses. What does change is what you don't pay: wire emergencies, food restrictions and hygiene time.
